The Remote Office

How We Pick

The Remote Office exists because the people on our job boards spend their entire workday at a desk they paid for themselves. These are the rules we follow when we tell someone what to buy, and how we make money doing it.

Jobs to Inbox is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you buy through links on this page we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We choose every product ourselves and we are never paid to include one.

What earns a spot

It has to survive a full shift

Everything here is judged against eight to twelve hours of continuous use, because that is what a remote workday actually is. A chair that is comfortable for an hour and a headset that is fine for one call do not make the list.

It has to be sold right now

We only name products that are currently available. When a model is discontinued or replaced, the guide gets rewritten rather than quietly left up.

Failure modes get named

Cushions that flatten, boom mics that pick up the room, wobble on a converter, glare on a panel. If a pick has a known weakness we say what it is instead of listing pros only.

The cheap answer is a real answer

Most guides include a pick well under the flagship price. If the inexpensive option is genuinely good enough for the job, that is what we say.

Written for the way our readers work

Our audience is remote healthcare, call-based and back-office workers. Gear is judged for chart review, patient calls, documentation and long sitting — not for gaming or video editing.

How the links work

The buttons on our guides send you to the product's page on Amazon. If you buy something within twenty-four hours of that click — that product or anything else — Amazon pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price either way, and nothing is added to your cart for you. What you buy, and whether you buy at all, is entirely your call.

We count clicks on our own side so we can see which recommendations readers find useful. That count is anonymous: it records the guide and the product, not who you are.

What we will never do

Spotted something out of date, or think we got a pick wrong? Tell us and we will check it.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product availability and prices on Amazon change frequently and anything shown here may be out of date by the time you click. How we pick our recommendations.
